More Than a Photo

Where do you come from? What does your background look like? Think about it for just one moment. Can somebody understand your background just by looking at you or seeing a photo of you? In his workshops, Wing Young Huie helps participants look past the common stereotypes that so often arise when first glancing at a photo.

CLOUD and Me

I have thought to myself several times since the beginning of my college career, this is the coolest thing I will ever do in my entire life. One of these times was the Friday morning that I came to WAM to help install Caitlind r.c. Brown and Wayne Garret’s CLOUD piece for the new exhibit, Clouds, Temporarily Visible. I was in awe when one of the artists, Caitlind, handed me a bag of lightbulbs and said, “Go for it.”

Is there something in your life that gives you the sense that everything will be okay, everything will work out? Clouds give me this sense. They are my blanket of security thanks to Andy’s room in Toy Story. The cloud wallpaper in Andy’s room is the opening visual of the movie.
