Bus stops and inflatables… these are two things most of us could go our whole lives without thinking about conjunctively. Take a walk downtown this week and you’ll prove that theory wrong.  

Up North

There is a place where the tranquility of life and nature is experienced beautifully. This way of living is found on the shores of Lake Superior in a town called Grand Marais, Minnesota. It is located close to the Canadian border, and is one of my favorite places because it allows me to escape reality and discover life in its purest form.

We Are the Other

Get outside of your bubble. That was the charge of Wing Young Huie’s March 4 workshop at WAM. For the artist, getting people uncomfortable about equity and diversity is a narrative he has long explored in his photography work. His real competency lies in making every participant in his workshops comfortable talking about the same topics. Not just comfortable, but eager and open to “get outside your bubble.”

As you might know, especially if you read Lauren Gengler’s blog post on Monday, this week is the Guerrilla Girls Twin Cities Takeover. There are events going on throughout the week all over Minneapolis and St. Paul, all culminating in a final performance at the State Theatre this Saturday, March 5.
