WAM welcomes you back to campus with live music, student tabling fair, art making activities, and screenprinting with BOHEMIAN PRESS on the plaza! 

  • Live music with headliner Porch Light (6:45PM), Gr3g (5:45PM), and University of Minnesota Battle of the Bands winner Honey Tree (5:00PM). 
  • SWAG (postcards and totes) will be screenprinted on the plaza with Bohemian Press and RadioK will curate the mood with a live DJ.
  • Get your caffeine fix from MisFit—back at WAM with the coffee cart.
  • Browse arts organizations and more at the student-led tabling fair inside the museum.
  • Make and take art in Open Studio.
  • Browse Librería Donceles — a Spanish-language bookstore in the Target Gallery.

Honey Tree

Honey Tree is an indie rock band based out of Minneapolis. Composed of Dolan Binder, Temmi Norman, Logan Studer, and Ethan Neid, these four friends have been making music together since 2020. Mixing funk and Midwest Emo stylings with rock tones and rhythms gives their music a varied sound that evolves show after show. The band released their new EP, "A Looking Lens for the Guilty," last spring and continues working on music for their next record.

Porch Light is an indie-rock group based out of Minneapolis, consisting of members Zac Fogarty (guitar), Jackie Uhas (vocals), Henry Hughes (bass), Kyle Siemon (guitar) and Isaiah Trimbo (drums). The project quickly came together in the Summer of 2024 with a mission to break the barriers that they have been accustomed to in the Indie world. Leaning into a raw and authentic live process “Porch Light’ creates a sense of relatability and intimacy for anyone experiencing this group. Inspired by blending the sounds of ’90s Radiohead with Hayley Williams’ Paramore, Slow Pulp, Big Thief and many more. The organic content with their signature 'basement rock' vibe has amassed them over 450k combined followers on socials. With just 3 songs released, be on the look out for their debut EP arriving on April 11th!

Misfit Coffee was created with the idea of paving the roads of Minneapolis, Minnesota with the best cup of coffee imaginable, leaving our mark on every customer that we meet along the way.

The Misfit Coffee trailer was constructed to showcase the fine detail and genuine craftsmanship that goes behind brewing our coffee. Striving to utilize only the finest brewing methods in the industry, we start with a single serving of freshly roasted coffee beans, ground onsite. For us it’s about more than coffee, so we focus on creating a pure sensory experience for each customer, transforming all of our passion and previous learnings into a beverage that can be enjoyed in an open air, community-oriented atmosphere.

WAM Collective — Weisman Art Museum, University of Minnesota

WAM Collective Officers are the student leadership team of the Weisman Art Museum. Officers learn about contemporary museum practice, plan programs and events, create digital content campaigns, research and write about objects in the museum’s collection, collaborate with other student groups and departments on campus, and make connections between their studies and the museum’s resources. Officers work with professional museum staff, artists, advocates, and community members on projects that reflect the concerns, interests, and passions of the student perspective.
