Member-Only Moments + Confluence Events
One key benefit of becoming a WAM member is gaining access to in-gallery member moments. These rotating events will include coffee and treats during seasonal sales and pop-up art-making activations.
In addition, when you join as a Confluence Member, you also gain access to curated Artist and Scholar experiences that deepen and extend WAM programming and exhibitions. These are customized, free experiences for our group of WAM enthusiasts, creating moments of connection that enhance our creative community and help us get better acquainted with one another. Previous events from years past have included private artist-led exhibition tours, an immersive artist’s studio visit, an artist discussion with the WAM Director, and a WAM-curated behind-the-scenes look at the Midwest Art Conservation Center (MACC).

Access to Museum Travel
As a Confluence Member at the Weisman, you gain access to exclusive art-centered travel journeys led by world-renowned scholars. Through both WAM-specific trips and a host of worldwide offerings by Museum Travel Alliance, this benefit facilitates your access to once-in-a-lifetime travel experiences. Membership FAQs
How long are WAM memberships valid?
For yearly memberships, your benefits are valid for 12 months from the date of sign up. For monthly memberships, your benefits are valid until you cancel your monthly gift.
Can I begin using my membership immediately?
Yes! Your membership is active the day you register. Within a week, you will receive a welcome email with more details on how to utilize your benefits.

How do I receive my new member welcome gift?
Within a week of becoming a member, you will receive a welcome email with more details on how to receive your new member welcome gift. To learn more about the current welcome gift, visit the front desk or contact us at [email protected] or 612-626-5302.
How can I upgrade or cancel my monthly membership?
Since your membership to WAM is processed by the University of Minnesota Foundation (UMF), please email [email protected] with any changes you would like to make to your monthly member gift. If you have additional monthly membership questions, please contact us at [email protected] or 612-626-5302.
Can I become a member with a gift from my donor-advised fund, retirement account IRA, or trust fund?
Yes! Memberships are fully tax-deductible. If you will use a method besides online giving, designate your gift to “Weisman Art Museum - Members’ Fund”.
Are WAM Memberships tax-deductible?
Yes! Your membership is processed by the University of Minnesota Foundation (UMF) and is 100% tax-deductible. You can contact UMF for more information at [email protected] or by calling 800-775-2187 or 612-624-3333.
Why does WAM membership go through the University of Minnesota Foundation?
As part of the University of Minnesota system, our donations and philanthropic records are managed by the University of Minnesota Foundation (UMF), ensuring that 100% of your membership comes directly to the museum. Thanks to UMF’s support, the museum’s operating costs are reduced, enabling your donation to have an even greater impact at WAM.
Can my membership be refunded?
Unfortunately, no. Memberships are charitable donations and not refundable or transferable.
