From the Publicity Books: Honoring Ruth Lawrence...I

At first glance, the University Gallery's Publicity Books appear to be mere scrapbooks filled with mementos of early exhibitions, that were found filed away on a bookshelf somewhere in the back of someone's office. However, tucked unassumingly into a Publicity Book dated 1953-1954, rests a short but impressive letter that challenges that idea.

Dear Mrs. Lawrence:

The Curator is Present

WAM recently hired Boris Oicherman, the curator for the Target Studio for Creative Collaboration (learn all about him here). The Target Studio for Creative Collaboration is a permanent space at the museum that is dedicated entirely to supporting the wildly cross-disciplinary artistic collaborations. As Boris gets settled in at the University, there are many people to meet, plans to make, and connections to be formed.

The Collective works in tandem with WAM's Education and Engagement Directors on educational and social programs that explore the intersectionality of the museum’s collection in relation to the surrounding campus community.

Ready, Set...Process! (2017 edition)

It has begun… again.

Welcome Boris!

In 2011 WAM re-opened to the public after a yearlong construction project that doubled our exhibition space and added the Target Studio for Creative Collaboration. The Target Studio was designed to be a permanent space devoted to stimulating creativity through visionary collaboration among artists of all disciplines and between artists and practitioners of other disciplines not traditionally associated with the arts.
