This spring, WAM’s Colleagues Advisory Board (CAB) has teamed up to match the first $15,000 to the WAM Student Engagement Fund! As a museum serving both students and the public, WAM plays a unique role in championing students as critical thinkers and empathetic community members.
Gifts to the student engagement fund will sustain and strengthen programs such as:
- Student Tour Guide Program. A paid opportunity for U of M students of any discipline to develop their facilitation and interpretive skills by leading engaging, interactive tours of the museum.
- WAM Collective. A registered U of M student group who develops programs connecting the museum with student life, explores WAM’s exhibitions and collections, and learns museum and nonprofit management.
The CAB will match the first $15,000 given, and your gift of $100, $500, or $1,000 will become $200, $1,000, or $2,000 of total impact. Your generosity accelerates our ability to serve students and support their development as leaders and young professionals.

Meet Katie!
Meet Katie, U of M student and WAM Gallery Lead in the Visitor Experience Department. Students like Katie are the reason our Colleagues Advisory Board (CAB) teamed up this spring to match all gifts to the WAM Student Engagement Fund.
Students infuse hope and excitement into WAM, and Katie is no exception.
WAM’s student programs nurture community and belonging, empowering students to deepen their academic pursuits, explore their creativity, develop professional skills, and engage meaningfully with the arts and community. This couldn’t be more true for Katie who is graduating May 2025 with a BA in Anthropology and Classical & Near Eastern Religions & Cultures. The processes and procedures she has learned at WAM translate right into her Anthropology studies, and the experience she’s gained as a Gallery Lead will help her be successful at her upcoming internship with SWCA Environmental Consultants.
