So, here is a very low-pressure experiment. An exploration in the use of dance as a means of enhancing the culture of empathy and sustainability in senior assisted living communities.

Close your eyes.

Imagine you are reaching both arms out in front of your body, bent at the elbows, aligned with the horizon. Loose fists point back towards the opposite arm. Now, begin circling or churning your forearms around one another, like a waterwheel.  

Continue this movement in your mind’s eye. It looks great.

A special art form with the potential to be an extremely powerful method of protest, posters have a long history within political and performative activism.

Last night, WAM Collective left home base at the Weisman to attend opening night of the annual MCAD art sale to purchase new pieces for HOMEWORK, the Weisman’s student-only art rental collection.

Using a student driven format since its inception in 2011, the WAM Collective places student voices at the center of shaping and developing programming at the Weisman Art Museum. This hands on and fast paced program gives participants the opportunity to work with professional museum staff, artists, advocates, and community members on projects that reflect the concerns, interests and passions of the student perspective.
