The start of the semester brings five new Collaboration Incubator residencies to the Target Studio. A platform that supports collaborations between artists and UMN researchers, the Target Studio for Creative Collaboration was created to allow time and space for relationships to grow and develop into professional networks. This summer the Weisman is partnering with the BodyCartography Project to offer a series of performances. Each piece is centered around a dancer/audience collaboration.
Lineage is a collection of dances, videos, and stories that are constantly evolving and specially constructed for the Weisman Art Museum by BodyCartography Project.
“Lineage draws lines between who I am related to, who I relate to, and how I relate and make relations between my artistic lineage with my ancestral heritage. I endeavor to use “artistic genealogy”, a creative interaction with my Norwegian ancestors and the ways that their lives have been recorded, in combination with influences from the work of Steve Paxton and Lisa Nelson as a new way of creating dance.” Otto Ramstad
