Join us for a series of cross-disciplinary workshops introducing students and professionals of nursing and dance. Together we will focus on ways we approach physical and social interactions, using techniques from each discipline to discover how dancers and nurses can learn from each other.
Workshops will be facilitated by Anna Marie Shogren, a dance artist with a long-term interest and experience in caregiving. These events will begin Anna’s year-long collaborative residency at the Weisman Art Museum and the School of Nursing’s Center for Aging Science and Care Innovation, where Anna and her collaborator Kristine Talley, PhD, RN will explore the use of dance as a means of enhancing the culture of empathy and sustainability in senior assisted living communities.
