About the Artist
Emily and The Space Butterflies was spontaneously formed in February 2023 at a music teacher convention. Based in Minneapolis, the band is composed of five classically trained musicians and music educators. Drawing inspiration from the realms of pop, rock, and the narratives of female singer-songwriters, Emily Malmgren's songwriting serves as the cornerstone of the band. The band's collaborative process shapes what starts as a voice memo of Emily and her piano into unique arrangements that highlight each member, infusing each song with technical precision and creative flair.
