With your help, the guided tour "LIKE IT OR NOT?", developed by Siobhan Mulloy, will delve deeper into our initial impressions of artistic styles and aesthetics. Together, we will analyze how our opinions change as stories reveal themselves within the artwork.
ART BITES are approximately 30-minutes long: these 3-stop tours given by Student WAM Guides, are developed under instruction from WAM’s LEARNING & ENGAGEMENT ASSOCIATE, Olivia Comstock.
The current Student WAM Guide cohort is comprised of: JOSÉ MIGUEL MANRIQUE [They/Them] – (Sophomore, Product Design & Creative Writing), SIOBHAN MULLOY [She/Her] – (Junior, Art History), and BEVAN BREAUX [They/Them] – (Senior, Asian and Middle Eastern Studies/Japanese).
The WAM Guides program is a paid opportunity for University of Minnesota students to develop and lead interactive, close-looking tours of the museum for the visiting public. Drop in, meet other curious-minded museum goers, and listen to your WAM Guide approach the museum’s collection via a theme of their own choosing.

My tours, for the month of November, are developed around the theme of WATER REFLECTIONS in connection with November’s theme for self-directed art activities available in the Target Gallery. Together, through close looking and discussion, we’ll investigate and discuss three sculptural installations that represent the fluidity of water using solid materials, diving deep into the artists’ unique relationship with their culture and environment through uncommon forms.
