Name: Keith Murphy
Hometown: Glen Ellyn, IL
College: College of Liberal Arts
Major: BFA – Studio Art
Campus Involvement: I’m involved on the campus in a lot of different ways. They mainly center around the Regis Center for Art. I’m the vice president of the Ceramics Collective, an active member of Bohemian Press, and I work in the Katherine E. Nash gallery as an attendant and helping with installations. I’m also a part of WAM Collective!
Volunteering at the WAM Bash was really great. I helped one of the commissioned artists by being part of her sculpture and moving it. After that everyone was there and we just had a blast.
What’s your favorite exhibition or concert you’ve seen?
I haven’t seen it yet, but I’m dying to see Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirror Room
Prospect park- The Witch’s Tower
I really like Self Portrait, you know, the painting of the canoe.
Ive always been really interested in having a super power, so maybe the X-men. It was my favorite as a kid
What are you passionate about?
I don’t know, a lot of things? Music, social justice, art, community engagement, success, happiness..
How would you describe your “perfect” day?
Keith Murphy is fourth-year Studio Art and Psychology double major. As a result, he spends a lot of his time is spent walking back and forth over the Washington Avenue bridge. While walking on said bridge his thoughts wonder from cross cultural psychology to types of bookbindings to his next overseas adventure. When he’s not traversing the Mississippi river he’s taking the OED Certificate of Equity and Diversity, or trying to grow something new in the greenhouses.
