Ballet Preljocaj, a French cutting-edge company – will perform ÒSnow WhiteÓ (ÒBlanche NeigeÓ) based on the Grimm BrothersÕ version of the fairy tale and set to Mahler symphonies at the Music CenterÕs Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on March 23, 24 and 25, 2012. Angelin Preljocaj set the work on 25 dancers using the most beautiful scores of Gustav MahlerÕs symphonies. Jean Paul Gaultier designed the costumes and the set is by Thierry Leproust. Out-of-the-ordinary and familiar at once, Ballet Preljocaj captures the essence of the Grimm Brothers’ story with exquisite contemporary choreography. This engagement is part of the first U.S. tour of the production.
