Ballet Preljocaj, a French cutting-edge company – will perform ÃSnow Whiteà (ÃBlanche NeigeÃ) based on the Grimm Brothersà version of the fairy tale and set to Mahler symphonies at the Music CenterÃs Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on March 23, 24 and 25, 2012. Angelin Preljocaj set the work on 25 dancers using the most beautiful scores of Gustav MahlerÃs symphonies. Jean Paul Gaultier designed the costumes and the set is by Thierry Leproust. Out-of-the-ordinary and familiar at once, Ballet Preljocaj captures the essence of the Grimm Brothers’ story with exquisite contemporary choreography. This engagement is part of the first U.S. tour of the production.
