Museum as Classroom
WAM invites you to make our galleries part of your classroom this year. All tours and workshops are free to University of Minnesota classes. Schedule a guided tour from our tour menu options or work with our education department to create a customized tour or workshop to link exhibitions with courses. To ensure gallery availability, reservations are required at least four weeks in advance for guided visits and 2 weeks in advance for self-guided visits. With notice, the museum may be available during off hours for U of M classes.

Please have this information available when scheduling:

Host your course or a class session at WAM. Reserve WAM’s seminar room and host your course or class session at WAM. Our seminar room offers an intimate and creative setting for study and discussion. The seminar room is equipped with a projection screen and a digital projector. To learn more contact: email@example.com
Or consider the galleries an extension of your classroom and host a session anywhere in the galleries. We can assist with selecting artworks to make connections with your curriculum, provide background materials on the exhibition/artwork, and provide support in teaching with artworks. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule your class session in the galleries.
Our Art Study Classroom offers an opportunity for close study and discussion of an original artwork. With advance notice, collection objects not currently on view can be requested from storage for viewing. Art Study visits are limited to eight students. A visit may be combined with a larger tour, allowing students to visit in shifts.
