About WAM’s Cosponsorship Program

A few times each year, the Weisman Art Museum opens its doors to cosponsorships with University of Minnesota departments and outside organizations, offering the museum as a venue for mission-aligned programs. We look to support activities that, like WAM, spark discovery, critical thinking, and transformation, connecting diverse audiences to meaningful experiences.

As part of a cosponsorship, WAM will provide a waived rental fee for UMN departments and groups or a steeply discounted rate for non-UMN community groups, as well as marketing support for the event. Events must be free and open to the public, and cosponsorship applications must be submitted at least eight weeks in advance of the proposed date. WAM is also happy to consider cosponsorship requests for virtual events, given the fact that many programs are now only offered online, due to the restrictions around in-person gatherings during the pandemic.

We strongly encourage events related to and those with the following identities to apply for WAM cosponsorship opportunities: Black and local Indigenous people, people with intersecting identities – LGBTQIA+, women and non-binary people, people living with disabilities and others with lived experience being part of marginalized communities.
