Young Builders and Designers Build-Off Challenge!

Join the Weisman Art Museum and Young Builders and Designers for a pair of two-hour workshops and spend a couple of afternoons outside, learning about designing and building with LEGO®! Create and design your own models based on a surprise theme. Then, show off your creative building skills! Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place! Youth aged 9 – 13 are invited to participate! They may attend just one or both workshop sessions. Youth who attend both workshops may be included in an upcoming design competition at Mall of America.

For more than 16 years, Brian Kelley has been teaching design education to Twin City youth through his Young Builders and Designers program. His wide range of clients and partnerships include University of Minnesota’s Design School, the LEGO® Store in the Mall of America, Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board, and many others. Many of his youth-designed projectsLogo for Young Builders and Designers, symbol of a paintbrush and hammer at the center have been exhibited throughout the Twin Cities in places like the History Center and the LEGO® Store in Mall of America. He currently lives in the Twin Cities with his wife, where he enjoys spending time with his new granddaughter and finding new ways to create and design.
