Master the art of studying with the WAM Collective.
Welcome back to campus! WAM Collective will host its first study night of the year on Wednesday, September 14 from 5 – 8 p.m.! As always, the first 100 students to arrive will get to sip on a FREEMisfit Coffee. We will also introduce a pilot cup return program called UCup (more on that below!). Take a break from staring at the complicated syllabus for that class you regret signing up for and make a cute button or two with our button-making station! Free for students. Complimentary good vibes.
About UCup
The UCup cup deposit program was developed as a solution to the overflowing garbage bins with precariously balanced coffee cups seen around campus. Intended to reduce and eliminate the need for single-use coffee cups, the program incorporates lessons from established concepts operating around the world in a way that fits the UMN campus. Once incorporated, the program becomes a system of cup use intended to ensure sustainable options are convenient and accessible. The program was initially designed in response to an assignment prompt for a Grand Challenge Course. Following the course, UCup creator Lauren Anderson was determined to make the project a reality so she entered the Acara Challenge sustainability competition and won funding to implement a pilot. While the pilot was postponed due to the pandemic, we are now ready and excited to test the concept during the September 2022 WAM Study Night.
