Gabriel P. Weisberg is professor emeritus of art history at the University of Minnesota, specializing in nineteenth-century art and decorative and graphic arts. Professor Weisberg received his BA from New York University and his PhD in art history from John Hopkins University. Throughout Weisberg's long and successful career, he has authored many publications and essays, and was the past president of the Association of Historians of Nineteenth-Century Art. Professor Weisberg is considered one of the leading authorities on 19th century French Realist and Naturalist art. In 2015 the University of Minnesota Foundation and the Department of Art History established an endowed Fellowship for use by undergraduates and graduate students working on projects with area museums. It is named in the honor of Professor Gabriel Weisberg. He is the curator of B.J.O Nordfeldt American Internationalist, now on view at the Weisman Art Museum.

Dr. Janet Whitmore is an art historian and adjunct professor in the Art + Design Department at Ohio University. She is currently working on the catalogue raisonné of Daniel Ridgway Knight with Rehs Galleries, New York. Recent publications include the catalogue raisonné for Julien Dupré; “B. J. O. Nordfeldt: Artist, Actor, Modernist”, Fine Art Connoisseur, vol. 18, issue 5, October 2021; and SOURCE, Notes in the History of Art  (Winter 2020). She has worked on exhibitions for the Snite Museum at the University of Notre Dame, the Van Gogh Museum, the Art Museum of the University of Kentucky and the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.

Paul Kruty, professor emeritus of architectural history at the University of Illinois, has written extensively on American art and architecture.  He has published essays on the art collector Arthur Jerome Eddy, Gutzon Borglum’s Altgeld Memorial, Chicago’s radical art groups of the 1920s, and the early oil portraits by B. J. O. Nordfeldt, as well as the origins of the first architects licensing law, modern casement window hardware, mural painting in the Prairie School, Marion Mahony’s creation of Frank Lloyd Wright’s graphic style, and the workings of Wright’s Oak Park studio.  His books include Frank Lloyd Wright and Midway Gardens, Walter Burley Griffin in America, and Marion Mahony and Millikin Place.

Lyndel King was the Director and Chief Curator of the Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum for 40 years, during which time she guided it through the design and construction of its current building, designed by prominent architect, Frank Gehry. King has served on the boards of the American Association of Museums, the Association of Art Museum Directors, and the International Council of Museums-US. and as co-chair of a task force for the protection of university museum collections. King has been a reviewer for the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Institute for Museum and Library Services. She presents international seminars on museum management. She is chair of the board of the Hill Manuscript Museum and Library and serves on the Schubert Club and Minnesota Center for the Book Arts boards.  In 2020 she was awarded the American Association of Museum’s highest honor, the lifetime Award for Distinguished Service to Museums.
