WAM Reopens to Visitors on Jan. 19, 2022

As you plan your visit, please note the following precautions:

COVID precautions pictured with icons: Masks are required in all indoor spaces; stay home if you're feeling sick; take advantage of the hand sanitizer available throughout the museum, guided tours are not available at this time; free, self-guided tours are available through the CloudGuide app.

January 12, 2022: Weisman Art Museum (WAM) and WAM Shop will fully reopen to visitors beginning Wed., January 19, 2022. After several months of closure while maintenance work was completed inside the building, the museum is, once again, eager to welcome visitors back into the galleries.

There is ample room in the galleries and public areas of WAM to keep a safe distance from others. Visitors will also find hand sanitizer stations available throughout the museum and are encouraged to use them. Refreshments are allowed in WAM’s Riverview Gallery; visitors may remove their masks while actively eating and drinking, but are required to otherwise wear face coverings at all times. Given current rates of community transmission of the coronavirus, the Weisman has temporarily suspended in-person, guided tours and public programs inside the building.

Because public health guidance changes and COVID-related staffing issues may occur unexpectedly, please check WAM’s website ahead of time for accurate, timely information about hours of operation, event details, or visitor protocols. Stay in the know by signing up for WAM’s e-news, and follow the museum on social media for the latest news and information. Things can change quickly.

With a few precautions, this is a wonderful time to explore the museum—to discover fresh art and ideas, and reacquaint yourself with much-loved favorites. Two new exhibitions are now on view at WAM: Foundling: 100 Days and The Nature of Shoreham YardsNever-before-seen work, including a number of new acquisitions, are on view in the Davis permanent collection gallery. This spring’s major survey exhibition, B.J.O. Nordfeldt: American Internationalistwill open February 11, 2022. As always, admission to the Weisman is free.
