On May 15, community members gathered alongside the Target Studio cohort and their UMN collaborators to celebrate the very first year of the Target Studio for Creative Collaboration program. The evening began with studio activations and performances from 2018–2019 artist-fellows Terry Hempfling and Rachel Jendrzejewski, Marcus Young and students at HECUA's Art for Social Change program, Anna Marie Shogren, Peng Wu, Yuko Taniguchi, Alison Hiltner, and Monica Sheets.

A panel conversation commenced, comprised of a number of incubator artists and moderated by WAM’s Cindy and Jay Ihlenfeld Curator for Creative Collaboration Boris Oicherman and Jen Krava, the Director of Programming and New Initiatives of Forecast Public Art.

The celebration closed with an improvisational music performance, Variations of Sounds Traveling Between a Barrel and a Heart. Converted into wind instruments by Pedram Baldari, the piece was performed using the barrels of guns decommissioned by the Minneapolis Police Department.
