Settling In

Autumn is starting to settle in on campus - the leaves are starting to change, the light in the sky has taken on an amber hue and there is palpable excitement in the air. We're still buzzing off of WAM-O-RAMA last Friday and are looking forward to filling you in on what we have planned next! In the meantime, you can get your WAM fix by stopping in next Wednesday 9/19 for the film Second Nature, The Biomimicry of Evolution at 6:30. Hear from artist Jason Hackenwerth and associate professor Marc Swackhamer from the U of M School of Architecture as they discuss the film and the related exhibit contextual flux.

While you're at it, drop by the WAM Shop and check out all the new fall products, including these gorgeous Egyptian Cotton Scarves. Looking for a present for that special man in your life? Surprise him with these super hip vintage inspired wallets by Jetsam! Jetsam was inspired by the time-honored style of iconic male figures. It's old-school haberdashery for the guy who doesn't wear a suit.

Finding it impossible to find a place to relax over at Coffman? The Weisman offers a welcoming space to reflect, study or bring your next date. The Riverview Gallery has a cozy corner (with Wifi!) and an ample amount of space to get your work done (not to mention a beautiful view of the Mississippi River). If inspiration is what you're after, take a stroll through Tenuous Though Real before it comes down on September 23.

Whatever the reason, we hope you stop into WAM this fall semester and take advantage of all the museum has to offer.
